Not at all! We welcome complete beginners and offer teaching sessions for newcomers. Many of our members started with zero knowledge and learned through our club.
We primarily play Hong Kong style Mahjong, but we also have members experienced in Taiwanese and Japanese (Riichi) variants. We're happy to accommodate different styles and help you learn multiple variants.
No, the club provides all necessary equipment including multiple Mahjong sets. However, if you have your own set and prefer to use it, you're welcome to bring it along.
Your first session is free so you can try it out! After that, we have flexible membership options. Contact us for current pricing and membership details.
We have members of all ages, from young adults to seniors. Mahjong is a game that brings together people across generations, and our club reflects that diversity.
Typical sessions run for 2-3 hours, but you're welcome to stay for as long or short as you like. We understand people have different schedules and commitments.
We maintain a friendly, casual atmosphere focused on learning and socializing. While some members enjoy competitive play, there's no pressure - play at whatever level you're comfortable with.
Both are perfectly fine! Many members initially came alone and have made great friends through the club. Mahjong is a social game, and you'll quickly feel part of the community.
Just yourself and enthusiasm to learn! We provide everything you need. You might want to bring a notepad if you like to take notes while learning.
